Photography Contest Rules – Beleza das Barragens (Beauty of Dams)

 

1. Objective: The contest aims to celebrate the beauty and importance of dams through photography.
2. Theme: Photographs must highlight the beauty of dams, their integration with the environment, or other aesthetic and technical aspects related to these structures.
3. Participants: The contest is open exclusively to participants registered for DAMSWEEK 2026, and each participant may submit only one photograph. Participants present at DAMSWEEK 2026 will be able to vote for the best photo at the CBDB booth.
4. Entry Requirements: Only amateur photographs taken from ground level will be accepted. Aerial photographs captured by drones or similar equipment will be disqualified.
   To participate in the “Beleza das Barragens” contest, follow these steps:
   • Have an Instagram, Facebook, or LinkedIn account (or create one if you do not have one).
   • Post a photo of a dam.
   • Publish the photo on your Instagram profile (public profiles only), Facebook, or LinkedIn, tagging the official profile of the Brazilian Committee on Dams (Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cbdb_barragens, Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/cbdbbarragens, or LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/cbdb-nacional/), and include the hashtag #CBDB_Damsweek2025 in the caption.
   • Make sure your Instagram account remains public on the date of the drawing.
   Only posts published by 1:00 p.m. on September 21 (Monday) will be accepted.
5. Copyright: Participants confirm that they are the authors of the submitted photographs and hold all rights necessary for their use in the contest. Participants grant the rights to use the photographs for contest-related promotional purposes, without commercial intent.
6. Judging: The best photographs will be selected and evaluated by NR NORTE – Regional Northern Division, and will be displayed on the CBDB website and at the CBDB booth for viewing by members and DAMSWEEK 2026 participants.
   Photographs will be evaluated by DAMSWEEK 2026 attendees, and each person will be entitled to one vote, to be cast on a ballot and placed in a designated voting box at the CBDB booth.
7. Prizes: The top three photographs will be awarded as follows:
   • 1st place: Book + free registration for DAMSWEEK 2027 + winning photo featured on the cover of RBEB magazine (subject to authorization by the dam owner).
   • 2nd place: Book + woven blanket by artisan Leila Taborda + winning photo featured inside RBEB magazine.
   • 3rd place: Book + winning photo featured inside RBEB magazine.
8. Announcement of Results: The results will be announced during the Closing Ceremony of DAMSWEEK 2026 and on social media.
9. Final Provisions: Participation in the contest implies acceptance of these rules. CBDB reserves the right to disqualify any participant who violates the established rules or submits content deemed inappropriate by the organizing committee.
